David Simon is, undoubtedly, one of the most respected figures within the audiovisual industry worldwide. He started as a young journalist at the homicide section for the Baltimore local newspaper. However, it didn’t take long for Simon to go up the ladder and arrive to the top with the creation of, if not the best, at least, one of the most acclaimed series ever: The Wire. Adria’s News interviews David Simon during the Celsius 232 Festival in Aviles (Spain) to get to know a man that, although having been through many different things in life, says he’s now more afraid than ever.

Lisa Tuttle (Houston, 1952) is among the most respected fiction writers of the moment, having published both short stories and novels. The topics she is more comfortable with are fantasy, horror and science fiction, but she says that ghost stories have been her first love. Adria’s News interviews this multiawarded writer at the Celsius 232 Festival in Avilés to discover why she decided to move from the United States to Scotland, how was working with the famous author George R.R. Martin in their co-written novel Windhaven and, above all, to know why she refused the Nebula Award for her short story ‘The Bone Flute’.

Jose Quintana: “If the American Dream used to be a mile, now it’s a mile and a half”

Jose Quintana is just 24 years old but he is already very involved in politics. In fact, apart from being a Senior Political Sciences and Sociology Majors, he’s the President of the College Democrats at University of California Irvine and was the one who opened the Bill Clinton meeting at UCI. Just a few days before the American Presidential Elections, Adria’s News interviews him to talk about the main campaign issues, some controversial facts and the expectations of both Republican and Democratic parties finding out that Jose Quintana supports Barack Obama from the very beginning, he really likes the Castro Brothers and his favorite President is Franklin D. Roosevelt. In addition, when he is asked if he can imagine himself ending up in the White House he answers with a clever smile: “I don’t know, maybe, depends if I end up becoming a politician, and if I do, how far do I want to go, and how much time and effort do I wanna invest in my political career”.
